COURSES OF STUDY
The period for the course of study in the U.E.C. classes consists of 3 years of Junior Middle Section and 3 years of Senior Middle Section which is similar to the system in China, U.S.A., Japan and Taiwan R.O.C.. As for the G.C.E. classes, it consists of 5 years of high school education as in England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
The prescribed textbooks used in the U.E.C. classes are published by Dong Zhong while the textbooks in the G.C.E. classes are similar throughout the Commonwealth countries. To improve the standard of the English Language, the Junior Middle One to Three classes have revised their syllabuses by placing greater emphasis on the language. This proves to be an advantage for the students taking the U.E.C. since they have the choice of sitting for their written examination either in English or Chinese. On the other hand, students in the G.C.E. classes may choose to sit for the U.E.C. in Senior Middle Three. As the U.E.C. is obtaining more international recognition, students can further their studies either in universities locally or overseas.

Students are required to complete 4 monthly tests and 2 examinations (the Mid-Year and Final exams) in a school year. Furthermore, students are required to sit for the following public examinations:
1) P.M.R. and U.E.C. (Junior Section) in Junior Middle Three;
2) U.E.C. (Senior Section) in Senior Middle Three.
Subjects like Mathematics, Sciences, Book-Keeping and Accounting are conducted in English in the Senior U.E.C. classes to ensure that students are competent in both English and Chinese.

Special Features of G.C.E. CLASSES
The minimum entry requirement for the G.C.E. classes is good U.P.S.R. results and satisfactory results in our entrance examination conducted at the time of registration. The P.M.R. and U.E.C. are to be taken in Junior Middle Three. Students will be eligible for the Singapore Cambridge O’Level Examination after an interval of 2 years following their P.M.R.
All subjects in the G.C.E. classes are conducted in English using English Textbooks. Subjects in P.M.R., conducted in Bahasa Malaysia are also incorporated in the curriculum in the Junior section. Students in the G.C.E. classes are able to sit for the U.E.C. in Senior Middle Three since the examination papers are available in both English and Chinese. Having achieved excellent results in the U.E.C., students will be accepted by most universities locally and overseas.

CONCLUSION
It is hoped that the Board of Directors and our teachers will continue to give the school their fullest in achieving academic excellence as well as to inculcate in our children the tradition of our Chinese culture and heritage.
